Today is the day my faith began,
when a few decided that allegiance to Christ trumped allegiance to the state,
when water became the symbol of resistance to conformity,
when with the simple act of baptism,
you signed your death warrant
and gave to me an example of fiery obedience for which I,
so grateful nigh on these 500 years later,
burn with the fervent hope that I too will live out my
convictions and beliefs
as if my very life depends on it.
January 21, 1525 is considered the date when the Swiss Anabaptist Movement was founded.
